The best of trends - Spring 2015

Hello everyone,

Today's post is going to be a bit different to what I have been posting previously, but I would love to know what you think of this style of post, so I know whether to do more in the future. I recently joined a website named 'LOOKBOOK' which, if you don't know, is a sort of variation of Instagram, only for fashion (my username is 'Minuette Blogs'). I was scrolling through my feed on there this morning, and noticed a lot of the same looks coming through. I did some research, and came up with this list of my favourite trends for this spring, which I thought you would like to see. Enjoy...

Metallics - Metallics were big in the '70s and '80s, and now they are making a comeback. The new metallics aren't tacky, but I would not suggest buying a full skirt made of a metallic material, other than that they do add a little glamour and glitz to an otherwise plain outfit.

Yellow - While loads of you may be thinking 'ugh yellow, I'm not even going to attempt to pull that off' (and I must say that I did agree), it is very easy to slip in yellow as part of an outfit, to give it a burst of colour. I often find that it works best with an otherwise monochrome outfit (Hint: find a top with bees on it).

Gingham -  When it comes to gingham, there is a huge range - from huge squares, to tiny tartan patterns - and while there was a lot of plaids and tartan in the autumn, this spring it's just about the tiny check. The best part? It gives us all an excuse to wear a tiny summer dress like in primary school! And, yes guys, I'm still loving the peter-pan collars...

Corals - Another thing that I have been noticing a lot of this Spring is Corals and Pastel Pinks. Personally I love these colours as I feel they have a really summery 'vibe'. Despite saying this I don't own many clothes in these colours, but I do think they look great in bags.

Lace - I'm sooo glad that this fashion is in right now because I am obsessed with lace. I know that it is not to everyone's taste, but I always think it brings out the pretty 'girly' girl in everyone - especially in pale colours such as baby pink, and white. I you wanted a more sophisticated look a darker colour looks great too (mainly red, navy, and black).

Pastel Coats - I recently bought the coat on the right from New Look and have been loving it. I find at this time of year that there are some days when it's just not warm enough to go out without a coat on. However I still like to pretend that it's warm, and a formal pastel coat is great for doing just that. I'm guessing that this is because of the pale colours, so of you are going for a more wintry look, a dark coloured (such a burgundy) may work better.

Happy Easter

 Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to say a 'Happy Easter', hope you all had a good one.
I would love to know if there is anything that you would like me to do a blog post on in the future, of if there are any products that you would like me to review. I am willing to try most things, but it needs to be something that I can get my hands on, and because I live in the UK, I can't do anything that is only available in the another country.

I know that this is a very brief post, but I hope that you will all forgive me, and I will try to get another post up by the end of the week. Also, just so you know, I have got a full week of exams the week I come back (next week) so I have been spending most of my holiday revising, hence the lack of posts.

If you would like to contact me personally, you can email me on minuetteblogs@gmail.com

Shopping in Town (Haul)

Hello Everyone,
Happy Spring! Sorry that I haven't posted in a while, I have had tons of revision to do as we have 'End of Year Exams' the week we come back after the Easter break.

Yesterday I went into my nearest town with one of my oldest and best friends ever who I hardly ever get to see because we live pretty far apart (approx 2 and a half hours in the car). We went to quite a few shops and I thought that you might like to see what I bought. I also want to apologise that the pictures aren't great as I had to use my phone - my camera is still not working.

The first thing I bought was from Accessorise, and it was this set of 3 adorable hair bows. They were £6 and were completely worth it and I love them. They have loads of colours and patterns and you should definitely check them out!

The next shop we went in was New Look and one again I was looking at the hair accessories. I had real trouble deciding whether to get a flower garland or scrunchies so in the end I got them both! I love flower garlands but was always worried that I wouldn't be able to pull them off, so this is my first one. I am hoping that I can make it look okay. If you want these click here.

Next we went to Claire's and I bought some little black and gold grips. I have seen people wearing these one on each side and pinning back the fronts of their hair and thought it looked really nice as a quick way to do your hair before school. If you want some of these, you can find them here.

The last shop where I brought anything was superdrug. The first thing I picked up in this shop was the bath creme. I love this particular one as it smells of vanilla, which is one of my favourite smells ever. It was only £2 and you can find it here. I have also been loving the 'I love...' bubble bath and shower gel in Raspberry and Blackberry which you can find here. I adore this smell but I do find it a bit wintry for this time of year.

The other things that I picked up were the Collection Lasting Perfection Powder (click here), the Collection Lip Balm in 'Orange Burst' (find it here), and the Baby Lips in 'Oh Orange' (click here). I chose the orange lip colours because I think that as it is nearing Summer time, a soft Orange is a nice bright lip colour to have, and as a lip balm, it is perfect to carry around with you and not having to worry about losing it as they are not to expensive.

Please let me know in the comments what you thought of today's post and if you would like to see more like this in the future. I would also love to hear what you love about spring,
